Our family had a little outing to PF Changs for lunch and then cruised the mall a bit. It has been a lovely afternoon, but I have admit that my favorite part was each time I was wished a happy Mother’s Day. Unless you have struggled to become a mom, you have no idea how blissful that phrase sounds. Every time someone said “Happy Mother’s Day” to me, I felt a little thrill and thought to myself, “That’s right, I’m a mom.” It used to be a club I was excluded from. But now I belong and the joy I feel cannot be expressed in words. (I suppose I could have Rob video tape me doing an interpretive dance, but perhaps we better just leave it at, “I really love being a mother.”)
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms with kids and all the moms hoping for kids!
