Linlee’s morning preschool class has recess right before they go home. This is great for me because I can park in the parking lot and observe Linlee playing from my car. Linlee will run around with the other children now and climb on the jungle gym or chase bubbles, but always for little bits at [...]

A little walk…
After totally being taking down by this cold, I’m finally starting to feel a little better. It was such a gorgeous day out that I knew we couldn’t waste it, even if I’m still tired and sniffling. So we headed off to the Centennial Trail for a little walk…
Wearing mommy’s sunglasses (always a classic):
Linlee and [...]

The Pie Story
Today has been a nice, easy day. Linlee does not have preschool on Fridays and we skipped Little Gym. I’m still not feeling well and the thought of getting us to the Little Gym and then dealing with Linlee’s issues there was too much. In fact, Linlee is down for her nap and as soon [...]

Back in the saddle again…
Linlee loves her new rocking horse. Usually when she gets home from school, the first thing she does is take off her coat and shoes & socks. Not today. She walked in the door and hopped right on Dixie. It’s very cute.
Happiness…

Meet Dixie!
Linlee’s Grandma Young got Linlee an early Christmas present. (Fine by me; Linlee’s birthday is the week after Christmas, so she gets hordes of toys at the end of the year, but it’s nice to spread things out.) Linlee has outgrown little Austin and has now graduated to Big Dixie!
Sorry this first shot of Linlee [...]

The Battle of “One Bite”
I’ve been really lax about letting Linlee survive on peanut butter. While it has driven me crazy at times, it’s been easier to just “go with it” than insist she try new things. Last night at seven-thirty when she was watching a video before bed, she said she was hungry. (Well, Linlee’s actual word was [...]

Happy First Day of Autumn!
Last Monday it was sunny and 80º in the Seattle area. Today, sunny and 57º. Yep, I’d say autumn is here! It’s actually been dark and rainy the past few days, so today’s sun breaks gave Linlee a chance to play in the backyard again. I think Linlee’s cold was pretty minor (knock on wood). [...]

It only took two weeks of school…
… for Linlee to catch a cold! Phooey. She’s been so healthy all summer long. This morning she woke up with a little cough and a runny nose. Actually, her nose hasn’t been as bad since her nap this afternoon, so I’ll wait and decide tomorrow morning whether or not she should go to school.
Here [...]

More Autumn Moon Festival
This afternoon we headed into Seattle for some traditional Chinese music and dancing in celebration of the Autumn Moon festival. The event was so popular that the little auditorium in the public library was completely full when we arrived. After spending some time in the children’s section of the library, an upper level of seating [...]
