Snow Day #2

After a breakfast of aebleskivers (my tradition for snow days), the girls and I headed out into the big, white world for a bit of fun.  Unfortunately, you will see no pictures of that.  It was only me and it was snowing hard and I was pulling the girls on the sled for a good part of the time.  The other part of the time I was helping Linlee go down a little hill by herself in the sled, or helping Holly stand back up in the deep snow, etc.  It was too hard to be the mom and the photographer.  Wish I could have been two people, though, because there were some really great snow moments with the girls.  Darn it!  When we got back to the house, the girls went to the swing set for some reason, so I quick dashed inside for the camera to get a few shots of our morning.

Linlee’s upper lip is still red and chapped from her cold (which Holly is now catching).

I believe all but one school district in all of Western WA is closed today.  Many government offices are also closed.  The news is advising people to stay off the roads, if possible.  Rob is tucked safely up in his computer room, working from home.  The girls and I are snuggled in and enjoying the heck out of our snowstorm.

The girls were watching the sledders going down our hill.  (Clearly I dressed one of my children in what I felt was appropriate for a snowy, winter’s day and the other dressed herself.)

This isn’t a picture of the snowman on our front porch.  Look in the window.

I believe your snow storm(s) is our cold front, rain is predicted to arrive tonight or early tomorrow. I can almost always tell what our weather is going to be like in a few days based on your weather. We had a few really nice mild, dry weeks and then you got rain and snow and I thought “here it comes” and sure enough it got considerably colder (frost in the early a.m.). Looks like the girls are enjoying the cold white stuff!

  2. Cute little peek-a-boo girl in the window. Glad you had fun in the snow and still glad it’s 3000 miles away from me!

  3. Love the snow pictures! Rachel enjoyed it for a couple of days, but she is upset with it now because her ballet lesson tomorrow has been canceled, and now Greg is anxious to get back to work. I think I’m the only one in the family who is still enjoying all the pretty white snow!

I have to laugh to see Linlee in her little tutu dress when it is freezing cold outside.

As a native Floridian, I can honestly say you can have all the snow you want, it is very pretty to look at and the girls looked like they were having fun, but as for me, I prefer hot sunny days here:). I also loved Linlee in her pretty pink tutu, now she would love our weather here:). We have had probably a week of cold weather and I am so ready for winter to be over:). I also loved the beautiful face peeking out the window.

You are a winter person for sure! Love that pic of Linlee in the tutu looking at you-even with her chapped lip she is stunning!

Oooooh! I want a tradition like aebleskivers for MY snow days!! Alas, I’d be hard-pressed to come up with snow. LOVE your tradition. The pictures are fabulous — especially enjoying the irony of the tutu.
