Sweetness
My sweet baby before her nap. Holly is nineteen months now. She only gets a bottle before her nap and bedtime. The rest of the time she happily uses a sippy cup or a real cup with a bit of help. I know it’s a good time to wean her from the bottle altogether, but… I don’t want to! This is my last baby. While in some ways I am eager to see Holly move forward, losing the bottle is not one of them. I love snuggling with her while she drinks her bottle. I loved it with Linlee too. In fact, Linlee finally had to wean herself because I clearly was not going to get the process started (I think she was two). Wonder when I’ll actually ask Holly to give it up.
While Holly napped, I made some cookies to have ready when Linlee arrived home from school. The funny thing was, as I was getting Holly up from her nap, she kept saying “kuh-kay, kuh-kay” (her word for cupcake). I realized that she smelled the chocolate cookies! She already has a good little sniffer, doesn’t she?

I would let her have a bottle going off to college…..I hate the “baby” growing up too. Enjoy it, she will be done with it too soon I am sure.
I agree with Tracy, it is so hard to let them grow up and leave the baby stage. I had a really hard time taking Stacie’s bottle too, what saved me was her throwing out the window of the car when she was almost 2, she said “all gone” and never asked again, I think I was sadder than she was:).
As for miss Holly’s sniffer she does have a good one, too funny:).
Maisie stopped the bottle on her own because I wasn’t ready. I would still snuggle and give her a bottle if she’d let me.
What kid of cookies did you make?
What an adorable picture of Holly! I hated to give up the bottle with Rachel, too. I remember her pediatrician telling me to keep the bottle until she was two and I was happy to do so.
That is a great picture of Holly. The lighting is amazing! How very sweet. I would keep the bottle as long as possible too. You enjoy every second of that baby!
I never push my kids to grow up, they are only little for such a short time! In fact Kai-Li just recently stopped taking a bottle to bed!
FABULOUS picture of Holly! Hang onto those precious moments. They are gone so quickly. She might be ready to move on, but if you aren’t, you aren’t. If you get to age 6 with the bottle, maybe you should give me a call. Otherwise, I say you’re a smart and adoring mom to cherish these times.
