Holly

Oh my goodness, could you not eat her up with a spoon?  And look at her sitting up like that as if she were a big girl.  The baby is six weeks old!  (Granted, she tipped over mid photo shoot, but still.)  This morning Holly woke up and was more “present” than I have seen …

Oy vey.

Holly did awesome last night.  She went to sleep at 11:00, woke up to eat at 2:30 and then woke up again at 5:45 for another meal.  Linlee, however…  Woke up at 2:00 AM and sang at the top of her lungs until 5:00 AM.  I hate that.  If she’d just play quietly, or even …

On the brighter side…

Yesterday was a better day for Linlee.  We’re not out of the woods yet, but we made it through an outing of lunch and Costco with Anne & Rachel without a meltdown.  That was pleasant. Lately, we’ve been having what I consider the perfect summer weather; cool mornings (sometimes foggy, which is awesome because fog …

Autism be gone.

Linlee has made one of her swims to the deep side of the autism pool.  Mostly we hang out in the shallow waters any more, but as of last week, her symptoms really started to escalate.  It’s not all that naughty behavior with the water and writing on the walls, either.  It’s more autisticky stuff, …

Matchy Match

My long time friend from high school who was recently visiting from California arrived bearing matching dresses for my girls.  I can’t believe she beat me to it.  (I’ve already been day dreaming about the matching holiday dresses I hope to find for Linlee and Holly.)  Kathleen and I had a fabulous visit and don’t …

First week wrap-up.

Glad to know that Linlee’s antics have been providing entertainment value to my blog readers.  Thanks for the tips on getting the dry erase marker off the walls.  I have neither rubbing alcohol nor a Magic Eraser in my house, but the next time I hit the grocery store, both are on my list.  We …

Calculatus Eliminatus

Linlee is obsessed with both the video and the book The Cat in the Hat.  Unfortunately for me, she acted out this scene from the video yesterday by writing on the walls with a dry erase marker.  AND THOSE DON’T ERASE.  Ugh.  So let’s review…  Day One with both girls, Linlee poured water on the …

Plugging Along

Yesterday went pretty well.  I think Rob and I are over the so-tired-we’re-going-to-die phase of Holly’s infancy (knock on wood).  We are still extremely tired, but perhaps we are acclimating.  Holly likes to eat at 11PM, 1AM, 3AM, 5AM and 7AM (and so on).  It’s grueling, but we are managing.  Anyhow, yesterday was fairly peaceful.  …

First full day with the girls.

I survived the day on my own.  Holly wants to be held most of the time and that makes things a bit challenging.  Sometimes Linlee needs my attention too.  There was only one moment when both girls were wailing at the same time, so that wasn’t too bad.  I learned that I cannot be quietly …

Miscellaneous Pictures

Our getaway to Cannon Beach was fabulous and relaxing.  I didn’t end up bringing my camera back down to the beach, but I have some leftover pictures that I thought I would post.  Miss Linlee was not at all happy to be leaving Cannon Beach House this morning.  Now it’s back to real life.  (Rob …
