So long August

Doesn’t that look comfy?  It’s a cold, rainy day here today, so I snuggled Holly up for her nap.  She’s actually on her swing.  When I looked at her so cozy and rocking in her sleep, I felt envious.  Wouldn’t I love a set-up like that!  Of course, she only slept for a half hour.  …

Jinx

I will never again announce that I think things are “getting easier” because Holly took that as a personal challenge to prove me wrong.  Let’s just say that the weekend was spent with me holding a fussy, not sleeping baby.  Darn it!  I spent an hour soothing her into a nap this afternoon.  She slept …

10 weeks – magic.

Most baby books say that when an infant reaches six to eight weeks, things start getting easier (for the parents).  Holly chose week ten.  Whether it is her age, or the SwaddleMe wrap, things are starting to get easier.  Holly is consistently going to bed at night between 7:30 and 8:30.  That actually leaves a …

SwaddleMe

This has been a key to better sleep for Holly.  She slept through two nights in a row (first time ever) when using it and last night, was up only once for a feeding.  Her naps have increased from 25 minutes here and there to one or two hours.  Three cheers for Velcro!!!

Calm to chaos in 15 seconds.

Shouldn’t have complained.

Last night Holly was asleep by eight and slept through the night until six in the morning.  Holy smokes!  We’ve noticed that she is sort of on a three-day schedule, meaning she keeps a routine for three days and then totally does something different for the next three days.  Maybe I’ll have two more days …

The battle over sleep.

Holly and I are going head to head on this one.  Here is something I did not know; just because a baby is tired, that does not mean she will go to sleep.  I honestly thought sleeping is what newborns did best.  NOT SO.  I thought this because I started baby-sitting when I was twelve.  …

Bumbo Seat

Oh dear.  But I do think she is going to love this seat.  Holly really likes to be sitting up.  It’s just that I was so excited to try it out when it arrived that I put her in it even though I knew she had a wet diaper, wanted a bottle, and needed a …

Mommy’s Little Sweethearts

What’s going on here?

Yesterday and today have been surprisingly easy.  In fact, way too easy.  Both girls have been totally delightful.  Linlee has been sweet and calm.  She has not been writing on the walls or wrecking every room in the house or falling apart over insignificant things.  Holly has taken several naps during the day (in the …
