Home again.

We made it across the state with our sanity intact.  The timing worked better nap-wise this trip.  Both girls slept the first two hours; very nice.  We pretty much needed the DVD player for Holly the last three hours of the drive, but it worked like a charm.  Hooray for technology!  There was very little …

Last day here…

Another good day (aside from Holly wanting to start the morning at 4:45 AM).  The thing that has saved us is nobody wanted to see the house during our four days here.  My girls have turned the place upside down.  (Sorry, Mom.)  Tomorrow we head back to the west side of the mountains.  It’s a …

A nice day.

Today was our best day yet.  Rob arrived last night, so he is now here to help – hooray!  Linlee was her normal combination of delightful and challenging.  Holly is wearing us out, but the three adults were able to take turns, which helped.  We take Holly for lots of walks in the stroller.  It’s …

Spokane

We are in Spokane so that I can say good-bye to my childhood home.  If it sells quickly, I may never get to see it again (sob!).  While I’m eager for my mother to move closer to me, I am not happy about saying good-bye to this house.  Not happy at all. The six (took …

For the record…

Driving six hours across the state with a one year old is stupid.  In addition, arriving with a one year old and a six year old to stay at a house (my mother’s) which is on the market and needs to stay somewhat tidy in case of a showing is sheer lunacy.  Just saying.

Last Day of Kindergarten (and Raggedy Ann)

With four snow days to make up, it is finally Linlee’s last day of school.  There was no “Kindergarten graduation” like many other schools hold, or even a program.  Her class is going to have a little party.  I don’t feel tearful or sentimental at all.  Bring on first grade!  Linlee will have the same …

Party!

Let me start by saying, I wish I’d gotten better pictures of this event.  We all enjoyed Holly’s party (especially Holly!) very much, but I wasn’t on my game with the camera.  As you can see, the cake turned out looking…  Acceptable.  I would not say “great,” but acceptable.  It actually tasted quite good.  Holly’s …

The Tooth Fairy finally gets to visit!

Look at that gap!  It makes me giggle.  The second top tooth came out and as luck would have it, it happened at school.  Apparently Linlee’s teachers are better at keeping an eye on loose teeth than Rob or me.  The tooth came home in a baggy in her backpack.  Hooray!  At last the Tooth …

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HOLLY!

Do you all have a toothache now from looking at the sweetest one year old ever???  I normally scale down the files to fit inside this blog without distortion, but I didn’t do that with these pictures.  You can click on each one to see the full size and the image will look sharper. A …

Missing Tooth

In more ways than one!  A year ago Linlee lost her two bottom teeth.  We never even got to see them because we believe she threw them away.  But that was a year ago.  Now with her two top teeth as loose as can be, we prepped her really well; once a tooth comes out, …
