The Big Tree

So it turned out that we did not wait until next weekend to hunt for our big tree.  We were near the tree farm this morning and it just sort of made sense to go for it.  So we did. We found a good one! Timberrrrr! I also started a new tradition this year.  The …

The Little Tree

The girls’ “little tree” has a new place in the family room, but now I’d like for them to have a bigger tree in that spot.  It looks really little!  They were beyond excited to put it up the day after Thanksgiving.  The “real” tree will be hunted for next weekend.  Here comes Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our day started with a lovely, lazy morning…Later in the day, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner with Rob’s parents, my mother and my brother.  The evening was full of good conversation and lots of little girl giggles.  We are thankful for family. Pie!I was responsible for quite a bit of the Thanksgiving meal (which has …

Preschool Cuteness!

She was so proud of her turkey crown that she insisted on wearing it to lunch…P.S. There was a grandma at Holly’s preschool who was coveting the sweetness of Holly’s crown.  Apparently her little granddaughter was thankful for pizza!

It only took two years…

For Holly to go from this (age 16 months, Linlee age 6): To this:Above is Holly (age three) in the dress Linlee was wearing, a size 5/6. Today is pajama day at Linlee’s school.  She is VERY excited.  Linlee loves wearing pajamas and often asks if she can change into them well before dinner time. …

Gotcha Anniversary #8!

How do you solve a problem like Haw-leeeeee?!

You know that song from the Sound of Music, How Do Solve a Problem Like Maria?  It’s Holly’s theme song.  Seriously.  I just reread the words; it’s about Holly. Here she is caught playing on top of the piano.  Tsk, tsk, tsk.  This morning after dressing her all pretty for preschool, Holly discovered that I’d forgotten …

Independent Play (or lack there of)

This picture is ironic because here the girls are happily tapping on the keys together while I’m about to complain that they cannot play independently… I’m really pulling my hair out these days over this issue.  I suppose it is somehow my fault for not “teaching” independent play, but I thought kids would naturally wander off …

Lies and Lions

Awe.  Aren’t they sweet?  (I opted not to post a picture of them fighting.  Heh.) Holly has entered two phases this week which Linlee has never gone through.  Number one, she lied.  Holly insisted that she had not gotten into Mémé’s makeup, yet most of her face sparkled with eye shadow.  Hmm.  I was so …

New look for the family room!

We haven’t updated a thing in our house in the eight years we’ve lived here.  There wasn’t really a need until along came Holly.  What she has managed to do to our family room carpet in her short three years is rather unbelievable.  So we made a change.  Have a look… BEFORE: AFTER:Squeal!  I was …
