Tree chopping, er, shopping…
We tried out a new tree farm this year. Upon arrival, we were told that the u-cut section of the farm was closed; all their good-sized trees were wiped out last weekend and the rest need to be left to grow. Bummer (especially as it’s only December 3rd!). We might have bundled back into the car to try another farm, but this farm happened to have a nice selection of pre-cut trees to choose from as well. We thought it wouldn’t hurt to take a look. So we looked and found one so quickly that I didn’t even have time to take a picture (not that choosing a pre-cut tree is remotely the same as hiking around a tree farm and chopping down one’s own).It wouldn’t be Christmas without our traditional “TIMBER!’ picture. We had to make do.
The girls have their own little tree to decorate (with non-breakable ornaments), but were dying to get at mine. For the first time ever, I let them. We had a lovely afternoon together listening to Christmas music and hanging the ornaments. (When they go to school tomorrow, I’ll simply fix what needs fixing. Ha.)(Holly’s little leg kick cracked me up.) I’ll post a picture of the finished tree in a few days.
